Steal An Egg Eggs: How Hatching and Egg Stats Work
Learn how eggs move from inventory to hatch result in Steal An Egg, what the visible mass and timer fields mean, and what remains unverified.
What do eggs do in Steal An Egg?
Eggs are the starting object in the collection loop. The official Roblox description says players steal eggs from pets and other players, hatch those eggs, and collect the pets that come out. A September 1, 2026 gameplay recording shows the same sequence on screen: eggs in inventory, an egg placed with a countdown, and a pet appearing after the timer.
This page explains the fields that were actually visible in those sources. It does not claim to be an all-eggs database.
How does an egg move through the hatch loop?
A current beginner path can be organized into four steps:
- Take an available egg. The official description identifies stealing eggs as the central action.
- Return it to your base or safe area. A current gameplay sample shows the egg carried back and placed in the player’s pen.
- Read the displayed hatch timer. The placed egg shows a countdown before it is ready.
- Collect the pet result. The same continuous sequence shows a pet after the countdown.
The exact control depends on device, so follow the prompt on screen. The beginner guide covers the wider earn-and-upgrade loop.
Which egg fields are currently verified?
| Field | What current evidence shows | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Egg identity | The game distinguishes egg families or types | A complete current roster |
| Mass | Egg inventory items can display mass in kilograms | A formula for rarity, pet size, income, or mutation |
| Hatch timer | A placed egg can show a countdown | One fixed duration for every egg |
| Hatch result | An egg can produce a pet | Complete odds or every possible outcome |
| Index grouping | The Pet Index can group possible discoveries under an egg family | That one account view contains every current result |
| Acquisition | The official description says eggs can be stolen from pets and other players | Exact locations, schedules, prices, or event availability |
Mass is a visible property, but its effect remains unresolved here. The official description also names rarities, sizes, and mutations. Those dimensions should not be joined into a formula until a repeatable current test establishes the relationship.
How should you read the hatch timer?
Use the timer shown on the egg in your current server. The reviewed September gameplay shows a visible countdown. That establishes that a timer can appear, but it does not establish a permanent timer table or one duration for every egg.
Before placing an egg, check both the timer and available pen space. A long timer can occupy a limited slot. Capacity and upgrade behavior can also change, so the page avoids fixed slot counts or costs.
How does the Pet Index connect eggs to pets?
The reviewed gameplay opens a Pet Index where possible pet discoveries are grouped under an egg family. Known entries show information, while undiscovered entries can appear as silhouettes or question marks.
That interface can help a player understand which discoveries belong together. It cannot, by itself, prove a complete global list: the visible state depends on the player account, the recorded game build, and which entries were discovered.
What is still missing from a complete egg database?
A publishable all-eggs index needs a current record for every egg with:
- canonical in-game name;
- original or licensed image;
- current availability and acquisition method;
- mass or size field definition;
- egg-family relationship;
- possible hatch results;
- verified odds, if the game exposes them;
- timer behavior; and
- the version and date on which each field was checked.
Those records do not exist in this project yet. Competitor sitemap URLs are useful for discovering candidates, but they do not establish accuracy or permission to reuse data. The next egg page will be added only when its own fact and asset packet is complete.

FAQ
What do eggs do in Steal An Egg?
Eggs hatch into pets. The official Roblox description makes eggs central to the steal, hatch, collect, and earn loop, while current gameplay shows an egg moving from inventory to a hatch countdown and then a pet result.
Does egg mass change the pet?
Current gameplay shows egg mass in kilograms and the official description names sizes as a game dimension, but this evidence does not establish a formula linking egg mass to pet size, rarity, income, or mutation.
How long do eggs take to hatch?
A placed egg can show a countdown, but the reviewed evidence does not establish one universal hatch time. Use the timer visible on the egg in your current server.
Is this a complete Steal An Egg egg list?
No. This launch page explains verified mechanics and fields. A complete index requires a dated roster with current availability, sources, and per-entity verification.
